100 Days of Awesome – Day 67

1. Awesome was another round of extremely encouraging telephone calls yesterday afternoon. Every single person I spoke with was more than willing to converse with me about my mission September, and provide very helpful advice.

2. Awesome was receiving an email from somebody applauding my proactive approach toward said mission. Even more awesome is that this person could be quite influential in my reaching my goals.

3. Awesome was having a bit of spare time yesterday to play with acrylic paints and pieces of caribou antler that the Boys Culture teacher had cut for me in the shop (inspired by my colleague Lilianne, who’d made some of these before). They’re definitely a work in progress, but here is my first attempt (writing in Inuktitut with a tiny paintbrush surprisingly wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be):

Magnet
The first says ᑕᓯᐅᔭᖅ (Tasiujaq in Inuktitut); the second says my name (Juti in Inuktitut).
