This evening, my colleagues and I stayed after school late for first term report card parent-teacher interviews. Between interviews, I alternated between marking, organizing, and making my classroom neighbour laugh with my silly Christmas window display puppet dance impression – a dance originally inspired by a Christmas song I’d overheard as she was compiling a collection of music on her classroom computer for the upcoming holiday.
Making people laugh is awesome because laughter is awesome. Laughter, the universal language, brings people together; laughter, the best medicine, cures what ails you. Laughter feels good, and because making other people laugh is making them feel good, it’s just awesome.
“We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once. And we should call every truth false which was not accompanied by at least one laugh.”
